Your school‘s parents‘ evening meetings and teachers‘ office hours can be planned in the Parent-teacher meetings module.

What is the use of this module?

It is desirable that the parents talk to the teacher about their child in private without the presence of other persons. If 20 parents come to the parent-teacher evening, each of them spends 5 to 10 minutes with the teacher. The last parent to meet the teacher has been “sitting” (in worse case “standing”) waiting in the corridor for up to 3 hours. It is very disagreeable from the parent’s point of view. All of us can relate as each of us has experienced doctor’s waiting room. In case of the parent-teacher evening it can get even worse as the meeting generally starts late in the afternoon and the battery life of parents’ phones is diminishing fast.

The Parent-teacher meeting module enables you to plan the parent visit to an exact time and date. The teacher knows who has been registered for what time and date, and he does not have to wait at school for randomly arriving parents. At the same time the teacher knows in advance that nobody has registered and he can cancel the office hours or close early.

How does it work?

1. The teacher or EduPage administrator publish the time and date of the parent-teacher evening/office hours.
   • They set the duration of the time frame reserved for one parent (e.g. 10 minutes).
   • There is an option to set restrictions for parents registration – time limit in which it is possible to register for the meeting, or maximum number of reservations per parent and day (if you need to avoid one parent booking meetings with many teachers and thus prevent other parents from registering for a meeting too).
2. The parents log into the system. The teachers’ office hours display. The parents can book a date and time that suits them the best.
   • The system displays all free and reserved time frames in an overview. Parents can schedule and book meeting with several teachers with no idle time in between.
3. The teacher can see the list of booked meetings. The list can be printed and taken to the meeting for reference.
   • If needed, the teacher can book a meeting for the parent themselves.

At the end of the day the parents are less strained and more content. The teacher feels less anxiety during the parent-teacher meeting. Registrations can be used for scheduling teachers’ office hours for students.
